You might or might not know that in just two weeks, on the 1st September, FireSquare will have been online for 2 years!

Through these two years of joy, struggle and common effort, we, as the community, have successfully maintained the server and made the server what it is now.

As a thanks to our players' involvement, we, the GMs, will make a birthday's event! We have not yet decided what it will be, but we hope that you'll find it fun to participate in We might announce more details about the event as it comes closer (or we might keep it as a surprise)

This question has been asked more and more frequently these days. And to prevent false rumors from spreading, here's the answer:

Kruc has promised that he will keep the server online and alive as long as there are players who want to play here. This means that none of you should worry about it closing - as long as you're still playing
Should Kruc fail to keep this promise, I will take over the server and continue it's existence.

Hello fellow FireSquarians!

Many of you wonder why the server is lagging a lot and crashing lately. First we believed the lag would be caused by the ISP, as there were no signs of any issues on the server. Remember last year? Well, apparently, not only the RAM got damaged back then, but, according to Kruc, a more complete investigation revealed that the processor had been heat-damaged as well. This summer there has been overheating issues as well, further damaging the hardware, and bringing the processor to a situation where it would from time to time cause errors, therefore crashing the server or the entire computer.
Therefore I hope this answers your questions about why it's happening.

Now, the situation and the solution. Kruc has no job atm, and is considering taking on a loan to fix the computer, but how long will it keep again? The best solution would be if we could actually finally gather enough money to purchase a dedicated server - dedicated only for the FireSquare WoW server, and nothing more. That will not only decrease the lag and increase the stability drastically, it will also allow support for many more players online without increasing the lag for other players.

Now, many of you have told that you can't donate - why? No credit card? You don't need that. You can, actually, use any local bank to transfer the money to my bank account, from where I'll forward it to the FireSquare's donations. You don't have to be of any certain age for that either. The international bank transfer can be somewhat expensive, though, so check the international fees with your local bank beforehand. The country to send the money to, my account, is Sweden. If you've read this far, and are ready to send a donation through bank transfer, send me an email and I'll give you the bank account details to send the donation to.

Together we can achieve this! With only 3 donates we are already 30% towards our goal!

I really hope that we can raise the funds for a dedicated server before the server's second birthday, the 1st of September, as we will organize some event(s), and I'm pretty sure you'll want it lag-free and stable
